Leeds United have announced Robin Koch will undergo knee surgery today – and fans are concerned it leaves them light in defence.

Summer signing Koch limped off against Chelsea on Saturday evening and was replaced by Diego Llorente, who was making his debut after recovering from a groin injury.

Here is how some Whites fans reacted to the injury blow on social media:

@David_balbi: Such a shame, he’s been getting better and better this season which is even more impressive if he’s been managing a knock. Wishing him a speedy recovery!

@smith_ingham: Played through the pain all season for us as no cover. Now has to have surgery, wish him a speedy recovery. Luckily Llorente is now fit so at least we have some cover although he needs time to settle in.

@S13Neil: Frees up a space on the bench for Pablo?

@VidukaEra: This isn’t the start to the day I wanted.

@Nickfaldo92: Weak at the back anyway so this is all we need! CB and LB in the window now!

@Andyfraser86: Centre back in January then!?

@ArronRichmond: Massive loss, been absolutely outstanding for us. Hope he's able to come back asap.

@NathanP92: Another CB in January then... expecting plenty of goals conceded between now and then.

@JacobWadsworth6: Bad news, what an opportunity for Llorente though

@tats180: Thank god the transfer window is only 3 weeks away!!

@JordyP1993: Name a club with worse luck when it comes to injuries. I’ll wait.

@ihatelufc: This club, man. We’re so unlucky with injuries.
