MORLEY Town got off to the worst possible start in Division Two of the West Riding County Amateur League when they went down 4-2 at home to Dynamoes.
Arthur Mountain opened the scoring midway through the first half with an easy tap in from close range, but Gary Noble got Town back on level terms with a tremendous strike from distance. Veteran Wayne Penny-Larter was left with egg on his face when R
yan Bassi left him for dead to race away and score at ease as Town went into the interval 2-1 down.

Morley felt hard done by when Matthew Marshall was allowed to score the third Dynamoes goal despite looking yards offside, but Matthew Moon got them back into the game, converting a penalty following a handball.

However, Richard Walker gifted Chris Gibbons another sloppy goal in the last 15 minutes and Town only had themselves to blame for defeat in what was a poor performance. Gary Noble won the man of the match award and Town must go back to the drawing board this Saturday when they entertain Steeton at Glen Road. All players should inform Eddie Green of their availability and they should meet no later than 1.15pm. Your support is more than welcome.

Ardsley Celtic picked up their first point of the season when they entertained Bay Athletic in the Premier Division of the West Riding County Amateur League.

Goals from Dave Cateroche, Craig Conley and Glen Hylton earned Celtic a 3-3 draw, their first after defeats in their opening two fixtures.

Ardsley were involved in another high scoring draw on Saturday when away to one of the title favourites, Halifax Irish. They were 3-2 ahead at the break, but had to settle for a point from a 4-4 result with goals coming from Dave Ward (two), Craig Conley and Glenroy Hylton.
