MORLEY second XI can clinch promotion to Division One of the Bradford League's second teams competition if they avoid defeat in their last game of the season against title rivals Undercliffe this Saturday at Scatcherd Lane.
The Morley side went top of the division last weekend following the double boost of being awarded 15 points for the abandoned game against Brighouse then defeating long time leaders Bradford & Bingley on the field.

They now stand six points clear
of Undercliffe with Bradford & Bingley a further point back and two promotion places up for grabs. The latter are still looking good for one of the top two places, though, as they visit sixth-placed Manningham Mills in their final game while the crunch game is taking place at Scatcherd Lane. Both matches start at 12.30pm.

The league moved quickly to decide on what should happen following Brighouse's "no-show" at Morley and awarded the Scatcherd Lane team 15 points after assessing the points secured by teams in all games against Brighouse (excluding abandoned games) so far this season.

Morley's first team, meanwhile, are almost certain to be applying for re-election after defeat to newly crowned Division Two champions Farsley left them 18 points adrift of third from bottom Lightcliffe with only one game left.

They close their massively disappointing campaign with a trip to Idle who are still chasing promotion as they stand in third place.
