LEEDS Rhinos star Rob Burrow is happy making other people relaxed ahead of the biggest game of the season when the Rhinos take on St Helens in the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final on Saturday, July 26 with his new job as a sports masseur.
Burrow recently opened a new sports injury and rehabilitation centre in Pontefract with his wife Lindsey called Burrow Physiotherapy.
The couple's clinic is based in Pontefract and while chartered physio Lindsey looks after diagnosing and treating
muscle and ligament tears, scrum half Rob is fully trained in sports massage. Rob has qualified knowledge in anatomy and physiology, Swedish massage, advanced massage and sports massage.
Commenting on the new business, Burrow said: "It is great that my wife and I have been able to find something that we can both combine our skills for.
"We launched our new website the other week, www.burrowphysiotheraphy,co,uk, and there has already been a lot of interest. It takes my mind off the pressures of rugby as well plus I have been fortunate at Leeds to have worked with some great medical staff so hopefully I can pass on some of that good advice."
The Rhinos are in France this weekend for another big game when they take on surprise Super League challengers Catalans Dragons on Saturday, knowing a defeat could see them knocked out of the top two.
Coach Brian McClennan said preparations for the game at Stade Gilbert Brutus had gone well despite a setback with an injury to full back Brent Webb.
He added: "Obviously going to France has its own challenges, but we have managed it well. The players have trained well this week and they are looking forward to the challenge of taking on a form team in Catalans.
"We lost Brent Webb earlier in the week with a back injury which is unfortunate, but our medical staff are working hard with him to try and get him fit for next weeks semi-final.
"We have got two very important games in the next fortnight. Catalans and St Helens are the form teams in the engage Super League at the moment so we know we need to improve our game to compete with both teams.
"We are really pleased to have Ian Kirke back available after a long lay off and Matt Diskin has recovered really well from his elbow injury. He had been a doubt earlier in the week but it is a credit to him and our medical team that he was available to travel for Saturday.
"Catalans are a very dangerous team especially at home. They will be full of confidence after their late wins against Quins last week and their winning run over the past couple of months. Casey McGuire and Clint Greenshields have been crucial for them and Thomas Bosc has directed them around the pitch. We know we are in for a tough challenge, but it is one we are looking forward to."
