Call Lane Leeds police cordon removed as detectives quiz assault suspect

Detectives investigating an assault in Leeds city centre are questioning a suspect after a man needed hospital treatment.

West Yorkshire Police said an assault was reported to have taken place in the early hours of Saturday in Call Lane.

A cordon had been put in place on a section of the street outside the recently closed Blue Rinse shop but it has since been removed.

Although an arrest has been made, investigators still want to speak to any witnesses who saw the incident taking place at around 1.25am.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A man in his 20s received hospital treatment for non-serious injuries.

“An 18-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody.”
