Hospices like Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice provide free specialist care services as well as emotional support to patients and their families. Wheatfields Hospice spends £4.4million every year to provide its specialist care services, but only 44 per cent of the costs to run the hospice are covered by statutory funds, the rest comes from voluntary donations.
Charlotte Revill, Senior Hospice Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, said: “We want to recognise and celebrate fantastic women in Yorkshire, like Nicola, who might not realise that they have done something outstanding.
“The Women of Achievement Awards is the perfect opportunity to recognise women and say thank you.”
