INCREASED police patrols have been introduced at Hembrigg Park as part of Operation Dampen.
Last weekend, a large quantity of alcohol was seized from local youths near to the park and two adults were issued with fixed penalty notices, each carrying a fine of £80, after buying, or attempting to buy, alcohol for underage youths.
Problems at the park were highlighted by a local resident who said youths had been seen drinking in the area.
Yobs had also emptied the contents of a dog bin onto a children's slide.
Officers acted immediately and now the park is being targeted by officers as part of Operation Dampen, which has been in force throughout the summer and aims to crack down on underage drinking and anti-social behaviour.
Since the operation has been running, calls to anti-social behaviour has been reduced by 20 per cent.
Insp Joanne O'Hare, from Morley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said that she had also contacted Leeds City Council with regard to the overflowing bins, which were adding to the litter problem in the park.
Anyone who witnesses any type of crime being committed should call the police immediately on 0845 6060606.
