CHILDREN from Thorpe packed up their buckets and spades for a day trip to the seaside.
Organised by Thorpe Residents and Community Group, 50 children and their parents boarded a coach to Bridlington last Wednesday and enjoyed making sand castles on the beach, playing games in the amusement arcades and having a ride or two on the donkeys.

The trip was funded by local councillors Jack Dunn and Lisa Mulherin (Lab, Ardsley and Robin Hood) and estate agent Manning Stainton, who gave the group £150.

Rebecca Gray chairwoman Thorpe Residents and Community Group said: "The trip was a great success. A big thank you to Jack and Lisa for their continued support and to Manning Stainton for their generosity."
