MORLEY'S newest football club, Luddites FC, held a successful fundraising night at its base, Morley Cricket Club.
Over £300 was raised by the healthy turnout of supporters and special guest Coun Terry Grayshon, the Mayor of Morley, announced a donation of £250 from his MICE fund.
Bob Waite gave his time freely to act as DJ for the evening and organiser David Holliday, team marketing director, said he wanted to thank everyone who had helped make the evening such a great success.
Luddites FC were formed by David, team chairman Stuart Hill and former Premiership footballer and Oldham Athletic captain Richard Graham, who is team manager.
They were accepted by the West Riding County Football Association and are playing on Sundays in the Leeds Combination League.
A fundraising quiz night has now been organised for Friday, August 29 at 7.30pm at Morley Cricket Club and everyone is welcome to go along.
Food will be served and there will be a raffle.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for local businesses and individuals.
Anyone interested can contact the club on 01924 827756.
