AN EVENING of hymns and the stories behind them raised £250 for the Mayor of Morley's charity, the Royal British Legion.
On Friday Alistair Walker and Jim Johnson from St Paul's Church, where Every Hymn Has a Story was held, visited Morley Town Hall to hand over a cheque to the Mayor, Coun Terry Grayshon and to Major Ashley Rawlings, the President of the Morley branch of the Legion.

The mayor, who had given a reading at the event, said: "It was an entertaining evening, everyone enjoyed themselves and the church was full.

"Obviously it is important that the money goes to the British Legion and helps them continue their work.

"Thanks to everyone at St Paul's."
