England’s second national lockdown and tighter restrictions across the rest of the UK mean that many pubs, restaurants and cafes will be closed until at least 2 December, but takeaway service is still available from many outlets. In response to this, Morrisons supermarket has brought back its national takeaway service for the four week lockdown - and is offering a Christmas meal for a bargain price. Takeaway Christmas dinner The ‘hot food to go’ takeaway service is available in all 404 Morrisons cafes nationwide and can be used throughout the lockdown period in England. A wide variety of affordable takeaway meals will be on offer, including a selection of festive food. The seasonal additions to the menu include a Christmas dinner and Christmas pudding for just £5.50. The dinner includes a main dish of turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets, with roast and mashed potatoes, sprouts, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, gravy and cranberry sauce. For dessert, the Christmas pudding comes served with a rich brand sauce or custard. Other festive selections are also up for grabs, including a festive afternoon tea for two with brie and cranberry sandwiches, festive turkey wraps, a selection of rich festive cakes and mince pies, two mini cheesecake pots, plus two cups of tea - all for £12. Christmas offerings aside, customers can still order the cafe staples such as fish and chips for £5, and bacon or sausage sandwiches plus a hot drink for £2.50. All items on the menu are prepared by hand and packaged in cardboard takeaway boxes. How do I order? Customers can place their orders in person, over the phone, or via Deliveroo in select areas. To order by phone, simply call the Morrisons takeaway hotline on 0330 808 9733 and provide you postcode to identify your nearest local store. You will then be transferred to the Morrison’s cafe team who will take your order. Alternatively, customers can visit the cafe when in store to place an order, or submit an order online via Deliveroo for some locations.
