GLASGOW-based alternative blues artist Dave Arcari is playing three Yorkshire dates this week as part his latest 34-date tour.
He is playing The Zephyr Bar, Huddersfield, tonight then at the Bath Hotel, Sheffield, tomorrow and at The Grove in Leeds on Thursday, September 4.
Arcari – a finalist in the Indy Music Awards 2008 – has recently returned from Canada where he was invited to showcase at Toronto's North by North East music industry convention and festival.
His latest album, Come With Me, features 11 Arcari original tracks and three covers – Blind Willie Johnson's Nobody's Fault and Going to See the King and a Mississippi John Hurt-styled interpretation of the traditional blues ballad Stagolee.
Arcari originally came to attention in his other role as frontman of alt blues pioneers Radiotones, but a solo tour of Estonia (including two blues festival headline slots) and a bunch of dates with Alabama 3 – and more recently with Seasick Steve, Jon Spencer and Son of Dave – have helped establish him as a formidable solo performer in his own right.
