THIS month Leeds Town Hall celebrates its 150th anniversary and Leeds International Concert Season is marking the occasion with a celebratory concert.
Taking place on Saturday, the actual anniversary weekend of the opening of the Town Hall by Queen Victoria, this choral and orchestral concert will involve music and performers associated with the city's rich musical heritage.
The evening will feature the Orchestra of Opera North alongside Leeds Festival Chorus and Leeds Philharmonic Chorus, conducted by Richard Farnes. There will also be a chance to hear Sunwook Kim, winner of the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition 2006, performing Grieg's Piano Concerto.
Audiences will be treated to a programme including Barber's Adagio for Strings. Highlight of the night will be Belshazzar's Feast by Walton, which was commissioned for and first performed at the 1931 Leeds Festival.
The last few tickets for this concert are available now and are priced from £15-£30.
