THE rather terrifying sight of an Orc, more often seen in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, was let loose in Leeds to celebrate the opening of the Royal Armouries bug summer exhibition Arms and Armour from the Movies: The Wonderful World of Weta.
The motley characters first appointment was at a hair salon for a quick spruce-up before spreading terror amongst shoppers in the city centre.

The Royal Armouries is showcasing weapons and armour from some of the biggest Hollywood films of recent years including The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
The free exhibition is open now (daily 10am-5pm) and runs until November 16 and will be the only opportunity for movie buffs and the general public to see the items in the UK.

Items on show include Aragorn's sword and Sauron's helmet (The Lord of the Rings); the White Witch's wand and Lucy's dagger (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe); one of the plane-mounted Lewis machine guns that killed King Kong (King Kong); and Hellboy's Samaritan revolver (Hellboy).

All items have been craftsman-made by the world-famous, Oscar-winning
WETA workshops in Wellington, New Zealand.
