A GREAT line-up of famous names, touring bands and emerging talent has been announced for Bingley Music Live – Bradford District Council's two-day music festival.
While it doesn't quite match the massive Leeds Festival, it promises to be a cracking event with headline appearances from the Happy Mondays and Echo & The Bunnymen.
The event takes place at Myrtle Park, Bingley on August 30 and 31 and will also see a performance from Bradford's own Terrorvision who are getting back together again specially for the show.
The Saturday will see the Happy Mondays top the bill. Part of the Madchester music scene, they scored top five hits with Kinky Afro and Step On. The band have since split, reformed, split and reformed again, but since 2004 they have regularly toured and played festivals like Glastonbury.
This is the only opportunity to see the Mondays in the north of England this year.
Other confirmed acts on the day are Terrorvision, Scouting For Girls, Delays, Infadels, Ebony Bones, Sergeant, Billy The Kid and Michael Mallinson.
Tickets are required for the Saturday and in advance cost £12.50 for adults and children. They are available on line from SeeTickets .com or Bradford Theatres (tel: 01274 436000). Tickets on the gate are £20.
Sunday, August 31 is the free day of Bingley Music Live with no tickets required and Echo and the Bunnymen set to close the show.
Alabama 3, the British band who achieved acclaim when their track Woke Up This Morning was used as the title song in the TV series The Sopranos, are second on a bill which also includes Golden Silvers, The King Blues, Go:Audio, The Sylvias, Desert Eskimo, Redwire and Hundred Dollar Cigar.
Bingley Music Live launched last year and attracted over 15,000 people over the two days with headline acts
